Description

This chair is made entirely out of green ash. While the ends of the legs were dried before assembly to reduce shrinkage, the seat and backrest remained green and unseasoned to dry over time.

As a result, the joints naturally tighten, reducing the need for glue.

Many Welsh stick chairs where modified and evolved to suit there owners needs, the same is true here.

Due to the previous backrest being too short, its last form was uncomfortable.

It has now been ‘fixed’ by making the backrest higher with a slight curve
